It’s been some time since I’ve updated here. Why you may ask? Well, between the server issues CCP had a patch or two ago and the constant internet connection problems that Comcast has in the Atlanta, GA market, I’ve not been able to get online a few days ago and I have to tell you. Dialup and EVE just don’t mix well.
So, it’s been 3 months of constant tech visits from Comcast, rewiring of the house (yes, Comcast replaced the wiring in the walls they put in when the home was built 3 years ago), replacement gear (6 modems so far) and 2 signal boosters. The results, no change. Our modem wil, regardless of make or model, will reset due to a “node non-communication drop failure”.
So, what’s the problem? Comcast has not upgraded the node since they purchased all the infrastructure from Media One 15 years ago. How did I learn this? Well, from the techs that have been to my home. 3 techs a week for the past 3 months they have actually bothered to show up for their appointments. I’ve opened complaints (5 so far over the past 10 months of issues) with their corporate office (215-665-1700) and they just send the problem to the local office. I finally hear from them and it’s always “we had a partial power failure in the node” or “we need to send a tech out to take a look at the line, it’s a signal problem.”
My favorite right now, “There is signal noise coming from the Dekalb Medical Center and they will not let us into the cabling closets to identify the source of the problem”.
So, they have not been able to work with maintenance, for 10 months?
Yeah, I smell bullshit too.
If you are going to lie to your customers, at least TRY to make the lie believable.
