Macro-Miner Kill
Well, finally. I finally got this guy’s hauler. In case you are not aware, macro-miner’s are a group of accounts that use a 3rd party application to automate the mining in the game. As a result of these actions, a person running 3 or 4 accounts at the same time can accumulate a great deal of isk. Most of these macro-miner outfits use this collected isk to sell on websites for real world money.
It’s a violation of the EVE End User License Agreement (EULA) for starters. It also can result in saturation of minerals in the market, removes from the game asteroids that legitimate players should be able to mine and ultimately can reduce the in game value of the in game money.
So, as I am npc ratting in the belt in Tash-Murkon Prime, I come across a number of Covetor mining barges in 10 of the 27 belts in the system. Warping around is goodh in an Iteron V Gallente industrial ship. I decide to start can swapping the mining barges. In belt 5 he makes it to the can I swapped and takes the ore back. SWEET!!! He is now aggroed to me and I can attack. Unfortunately, he warps away before I can lock.
So, for the next 15 minutes, I need to nail this guy or he will be clear of the aggro timer. Then, as luck would have it, I warp to belt 17 to the can I swapped a few seconds ago and at the same time, goodh warps in. I lock him and proceed to take him apart.
Needless to say, it was oh so nice to finally nail this guy, I had been after him during my days in TRAPS and I finally got him. The loot was nice to, a cool 25 million for 20 minutes work.
